Nokia 7 Plus sold out in 5 minutes in its first flash sale on JD.com

The newly launched Nokia 7 Plus has received a massive response in its first flash sale in China as the first stock was sold out in just 5 minutes. However, HMD Global hasn't revealed the number of phones it had put up for the sale.

After being resurrected last year, Nokia phones have once again struck a chord with the consumers. This is evident from the fact that in the last quarter it managed to capture one percent global smartphone market share. And in 2018 this is poised to increase. It has already begun showing signs in this direction as the recently launched Nokia 7 Plus has gotten off to a great start in China.

Following its launch at MWC 2018, the Nokia 7 Plus was first put up for sale on JD.com in China. And if the report is to be believed the stock sold out in just five minutes after the sale went live on March 7.

The two variants of the Nokia 7 Plus, the 4 GB RAM+64 GB storage model and the 6 GB RAM+64 GB storage model were offered for a purchase. They were priced at CNY 2,299 (approx. PHP 18,900) and CNY 2,499 (approx. PHP 20,500) respectively. The smartphone packs a Gorilla Glass 3 protected 6-inch full HD+ display with 2160x1080 resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Pumping power from under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC mated to Adreno 512 GPU and 64 GB internal storage. While the global variant has 4 GB RAM and an extra Chinese version is armed with 6 GB RAM.

In terms of optics, the Nokia 7 Plus mounts a dual-rear-camera setup with 12 MP (f/1.75) +13 MP (f/2.6) configuration along with a 16 MP (f/2.0) selfie camera on the front. The entire camera unit is from the reputable Carl Zeiss brand. Of note, the global variant of Nokia 7 Plus has a 12 MP+12 MP rear camera configuration, however. Android 8.0 Oreo handles the software side of things while a 3,800 mAh battery keeps the handset ticking.

Like always, HMD Global, the rights holder of the Nokia branded phones, didn't spill the beans about how many units were there in the first stock. After the stupendous success, the smartphone will be up for grabs once again in the second flash sale slated for March 15. Given the response, we believe the handset will most likely repeat the same story in the second flash sale as well.
