Nokia X6 will be introduced globally as the Nokia 6.1 Plus on July 19, will be arriving in Hong Kong first
HMD Global-owned Nokia is bringing the notch-equipped Nokia X6 to other markets outside China on July 19. To be called as Nokia 6.1 Plus internationally, the device will arrive in Hong Kong first. It is tipped to land in several Asian markets, which may include the Philippines.
Roughly existing in China for two months now, HMD Global's Nokia X6 is reportedly arriving to the global market as promised. As per the newly-leaked information, the China-exclusive Nokia X6 will be called as the Nokia 6.1 Plus once it goes out from the Chinese border. The international launch will take place on July 19 while the first market to receive it is Hong Kong. After its launch in Hong Kong, the Nokia 6.1 Plus will also arrive to other global regions at some point in the future. Sadly, we don't have the complete list of the markets where the smartphone is heading to, but it is highly believed to arrive in Asian countries, including the Philippines, where the device could get a lot of potential customers.
Despite the name change, the Nokia 6.1 Plus still has the same design and internals as the Chinese model (Nokia X6) with some very minimal tweaks in the software department. It will still sport a 5.84-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9, courtesy of the notch. On its core, lies Qualcomm's Snapdragon 636 chipset paired with either a 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB ROM. At the back, the device packs a 16MP + 5MP dual-camera system while a 16MP selfie snapper graces the front. As an international variant and a part of the Android One program, the Nokia 6.1 Plus will run on a stock Android 8.1 Oreo instead of its custom interface. The Nokia 6.1 Plus will be powered by a 3,060mAh battery.
Details regarding its global pricing is unannounced as of the moment but HMD Global is expected to sell the device in a slightly higher price tag in markets outside China. Based on the Chinese model, we should have an idea on how much the device could probably cost. The 4GB/64GB model is priced at CNY 1,499 (around PHP 12,000) while the beefier 6GB/64GB variant will set you back at CNY 1,699 (around PHP 14,000).
