Live images of the LG V30 leaks through early testing program
LG unintentionally leaked its flagship smartphone offering, the LG V30, through the marketing campaign it hosted with the help of HitRecord. Although the original post has already been taken down, screenshots of the images still flooded the Internet.
The Korean tech giant LG has teamed up once again with the actor/director Joseph Gordon-Levitt's media company, HitRecord, to give a few chosen smartphone enthusiasts a chance to film something using the much-awaited LG V30 and post their entries on a private community forum. Unfortunate for LG, the photos shared on the closed forum did not stay private and got publicized, revealing the true nature of the soon-to-be-released device. As of now, the post has already been taken down. However, a lot of folks managed to take screenshots of the photos and leaked it again out into the wild.
For those who are unfamiliar, the marketing campaign of LG with the help of HitRecord is to invite participants to join the early testing program which involves them holding or using the LG V30, resulting to live images showing the phone's front and back sides. As what we can see in the screengrabs, the LG V30 sports a dual rear camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, corroborating the past rumors. It also has thinner bezels compared to those of the LG G6 and is featuring an edge-to-edge display which is a widespread trend nowadays. It does not feature the iconic 3.5mm headphone jack, unfortunately, but it is said to come with Quad DAC support.
As a whole, the LG V30 seems to be a cross breed between the current LG V20 and the LG G6 phones. Like the G6, the device comes with a glossy glass back panel whereas it got the slight camera bump and laser-assisted autofocus from the V20. Regarding the specs, the V30 will feature a 6.0-inch FullVision OLED display with Quad HD resolution and dual curved edges. It will ship with Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM on board. It is expected to arrive a couple of weeks from now, on August 31.
